It's not easy being a teenaged martial artist named Ranma Saotome, but it's even worse when your martial artist father Genma takes you from home at an early age to go on a decade-long training mission. He doesn't speak a work of Chinese, and yet he insists on bringing you to the cursed training ground known as Jusenkyo, where falling into one of the many springs instantly turns you into whoever - or whatever - drowned there last. And then the two of you have this little accident...

From now on, a splash of cold water will turn your father into a giant panda while you...well, you turn into a red-haired (and incredibly well-built) female version of yourself. Hot water will reverse the effect, but only until the next time. What's half-guy, half-girl to do? Contains two hilarious stories each volume.

Ranma Gains Yet Another Suitor - Say hello to Furinkan High School's newest transfer student, Ukyo Kuonji, spatula-wielding warrior and okonomiyaki chef par excellence. Lots of people around town have got their own reason for despising the younger Saotome - Ryoga because he keeps Akane from him, Mousse because he's stolen Shampoo's heart, Kuno, because he monopolized the affections of the pulchritudinous pigtailed girl - but Ukyo's grudge against Genma leveraged his son's future in exchange for an okonomiyaki or "Japanese pizza" cart. With a father like that, who needs enemies?

Ryoga and Akane: 2-Gether 4-Ever - A wise man once said, "The path of a true martial artist is fraught with terrors." Truer words were never spoken, especially now that everyone's angry at Furinkan High's favorite marital artist. Ukyo's angry because Ranma betrayed a promise in favor of some quick eats and an even faster getaway; Ryoga's angry because Ranma's gained yet ANOTHER fiancie (weren't Akane, Kodachi, and Shampoo enough for him!?); and Akane's cranky because Ranma's acting like a complete jerk (what else is new?). The only logical solution is for Ukyo to set up a romantic date for Kane and Ryoga, so that she and her darling "Ran-chan" can be alone. But, as Ryoga's about to find out, perhaps a boating trip on a cold, cold lake wasn't exactly the best of ideas...
